Leasing to a Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) resident does come with a set of policies, processes and requirements in order to adhere to guidelines set by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), which provides federal funding for the program.
SNRHA has made great strides in making these processes as seamless and efficient as possible for our residents and landlord partners.
There are four initial steps to leasing for a SNRHA HCV resident. All of these steps are managed on RentCafe:
- Completing the Request for Tenancy Approval (RFTA)
- Scheduling a Housing Quality Standards (HQS) inspection
- Signing the Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) contract
- Uploading the lease (Verify)
Once these steps are completed you can schedule the move-in date.
SNRHA pays its portion of rent via direct deposit and the tenant will submit their portion of rent to you via their selected method of payment.
