HCV program participants receiving voucher assistance in SNRHA’s jurisdiction may be eligible to relocate with continued rental housing assistance by Moving within or Porting outside of SNRHA jurisdiction (Clark County).
Moving
To be eligible for relocation to a different home within a Housing Authority’s jurisdiction, HCV voucher holders must have received voucher assistance for the past 12 months or more and be in good standing with their landlord and the Housing Authority.
If you are Relocating within SNRHA’s jurisdiction complete the steps below.
STEP 1:
Complete and submit SNRHA’s “Intent to Vacate” Form. Available online HERE.
STEP 2:
Your caseworker will contact you to issue a Voucher and How to Determine Rent Form.
STEP 3:
Submit the “Request for Tenancy Approval Packet (RFTA)” Available from our website HERE.
Porting
HCV program participants who have been receiving voucher assistance in a Housing Authority’s jurisdiction for the past 12 months or more and who are in good standing with their landlord and the Housing Authority may be eligible to move outside a Housing Authority’s jurisdiction. This is called portability.
Are you porting into or out of SNRHA’s jurisdiction from another housing authority?
The SNRHA is currently NOT ABSORBING any transfer to Nevada but BILLING the Public Housing Authority of origin. This is subject to change at any time.

Your current Public Housing Authority (PHA) must email, or mail your portability documentation prior to your arrival in Clark County area. NO HAND delivered documents will be accepted. If we have received all required documents, please allow 14 days for reviewing of your documents and scheduling your attendance to a portability briefing.
The Payment Standards by bedrooms are as follows: (See Chart) list bedroom size and amount.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Families will not be permitted to exercise portability during the 12 month period after admission to the program. If the family owes monies to the Housing Authority, the balance must be paid in full or the transfer will be denied. Families in violation of their family obligations will not be permitted to transfer to Clark County.

If you are Porting Out Of Clark County (Port Out)
Please fill out the Portability Client Request Form with the new housing authority's contact information and submit it to your occupancy specialist. The form is also available in the Housing Choice Voucher Lobby. Your Occupancy Specialist will contact the new housing authority to confirm porting. If everything is approved your occupancy specialist will contact you to schedule an appointment for you to bring in a signed and dated Portability Client Request Form. Please See Flyer.
